Shopping for the guy who has it all

By 11th Jun 2019 No Comments

With Father’s Day just around the corner we know that finding a gift for dad can be tough. You want to get him something he’ll enjoy – something that’s both useful and cool. Dads often make gift giving even more challenging by insisting they don’t need anything new.

Instead of more socks and another tie, think outside the box and consider a novel gift for the guy who says he has it all.

Here are some top picks for dad this Father’s Day:

  • PopSockets

PopSockets are available at most cellular and electronic stores. This handy little stick-on gadget functions as an expanding stand and grip for smartphones. Not only can dad watch YouTube hands free, the stand can also be held for easier texting and calling. The stand pops completely flat so it won’t get in the way in dad’s pocket.

  • A portable power bank

No matter how tech savvy your dad might be, he’ll sometimes get caught with a dead cell battery. A portable power bank is a must have for camping trips and the outdoors. And if he’s every caught out by load shedding, a portable battery will make him the most popular guy in the room.

  • New braai utensils

We all know dad is the ultimate braai master which is why you might want to check whether his trusty braai tongs are in need of a serious upgrade. Consider an all-in-one braai accessory pack complete with basting brushes, forks, spatulas and tongs so he’ll have everything he needs to retain the title of Braai Champion.

  • A family board game

Board games are a great way to bring the family together. If your dad loves a little healthy team competition, then choose a fast thinking game like 30 Seconds or 5 Second Rule. For the strategist at heart consider Risk, Battleship or Cluedo.

  • A tie and belt rack

If you dad needs something to contain the many ties from previous Father’s Days, then a nifty tie and belt rack will work like a charm. A tie rack is an easy way to help dad declutter his cupboard and keep everything in one place. You’ll also score extra brownie points from mom!

If all dad really wants is to spend some quality time with you on Father’s Day then come to Mall of the North an awesome bowl-a-thon competition on 16 June. Team up with dad at The Fun Company and stand a chance to win some great prizes. Simply enter at The Fun Company before Friday, 14 June and be ready to play to win from 08h30 on Father’s Day. See you there!
