Introducing the colour you’ll be seeing everywhere in 2023

Each year, the Pantone Color Institute reveals the colour it believes will make the biggest splash in the year ahead. For 2023 it chose Viva Magenta – a lively and alluring shade of red with a hint of pink. Think of a gorgeous red rose with a dusting of blush and that’s Viva Magenta.

According to the Pantone, the shade is rooted in nature and the gorgeous hues of red of the outdoors. After the pandemic and so much time indoors, the colour was chosen as an expression of a new signal of strength.  “Viva Magenta is brave and fearless, and a pulsating colour whose exuberance promotes a joyous and optimistic celebration, writing a new narrative,” says the Pantone Institute.

Pantone’s choice of colour is big news for artists, architects, fashionistas, interior designers and trendsetters from a range of industries because of its influence in shaping tastes for the year ahead. From clothing to décor, paint colour and crockery, you can expect to see this vivacious colour in your favourite store very soon.

As any interior designer can attest, colour is important – not only can it influence human emotions, but it’s also the quickest way to instantly change a room. In fashion, colour puts liveliness to life. Wearing a sophisticated colour makes a statement and in its own way is a language all on its own, and happily, it’s one we all speak.

Viva colour in 2023!
