Something new is springing up at Mall of the North

September brings spring, but also dinosaurs, cupcakes, Heritage Day celebrations and a growing line-up of exciting stores to discover. There’s a lot changing at the mall too, with new arrivals, refreshed favourites and an even bigger entertainment offering on the way.

A walk on the wild side

We’re travelling a few million years back in time as the Dino World Expo takes over Mall of the North from 4 to 13 September, giving families the chance to step into a prehistoric world and get closer to some of the most fascinating creatures ever to walk the earth.

Celebrate Heritage, your way

Heritage Day on Thursday, 24 September gives South Africans a chance to celebrate the cultures, traditions and stories that make our country what it is. It’s also a very good reason to gather around a table. You’ll find plenty at Mall of the North to help you get ready for the day, from an outfit that celebrates your heritage to ingredients for the family table and something special to take along when you arrive.

A sweet way to make a difference

This month also sees the return of Cupcakes of Hope, proving that sometimes doing something good really can be a piece of cake. This much-loved initiative uses the humble cupcake to help raise awareness and funds for children affected by cancer. It’s a simple idea with a big heart, and one Mall of the North is proud to support on Friday, 26 September.

And there’s plenty new in store…

Spring isn’t the only thing bringing change to Mall of the North.

Our retail offering continues to grow, giving Limpopo shoppers access to an increasingly exciting mix of local and international brands, including several stores you won’t find anywhere else in the province.

Fresh from its opening on Friday, 28 August, JD Sports now boasts the biggest JD Sports trading floor in South Africa, bringing its international sports fashion offering to the North.

Sorbet Man has opened its only Limpopo store at the mall, while international fashion brand Psycho Bunny has also chosen Mall of the North for its only store in the province.

Home lovers have something new to explore too. @homelivingspace is now the brand’s biggest store in Limpopo, with a wide variety of homeware to browse, while GALXBOY has a fresh new look following its revamp and relocation.

It’s all part of an exclusive brand offering that continues to give shoppers more to discover closer to home.

And we’re not done yet…

There’s even more exciting change on the way. Shoppers can look forward to a new-look Pick n Pay, alongside refreshed and expanded stores from familiar favourites including Volpes, Coricraft, Vialli and Cape Union Mart. Wimpy and Nando’s are also getting new looks, while Hungry Lion will be joining the Mall of the North line-up with a new store.

And for everyone who comes to the mall to play as much as they come to shop, there’s another exciting development ahead: our entertainment area is set for a major expansion and revamp.

September may mark the start of a new season, but at Mall of the North, it feels like the start of plenty more!
